Stress and dealing with it

Had quite the stressful end to last week, to say the least. Probably not going to post too actively on here for a bit, due to having to deal with a lot of things just now. Just need to re-focus and concentrate on myself right now.

The NHS booklet “Steps to deal with Stress” likes to make a differentiation between short term and long term stress, and obviously being under stress for a longer time will have more mental health implications. Don’t want to delve too far into what’s going on for myself, but I am hopeful that I can take some positive steps to minimize the length of time I need to be stressed.

Funnily enough I have found chatting to an AI assistant (ChatGPT 4) very helpful. It’s given me some perspective and identified some potential solutions for my problems which is great. It’s quite knowledgeable on a wide variety of topics, basically anything that’s been written about online. I would imagine not that long ago I would have been queuing on the phone to speak to various experts to ask about stuff, or queue up physically in an office building, but now I can just type something in GPT4, and it comes up with something reasonably informed. It wasn’t that long ago when the Turing test was still a thing, but after passing that benchmark, things have really advanced by leaps and bounds quicker than I think anyone saw coming.

Well, I think that’s about it for now. Feels good to ramble on. To produce some human content on this precious internet of ours. No doubt this will be webscraped and entered into a dataset for some Large Language Model in the not too distant future, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.
