Getting ready for the big move

moving into the new flat

Leaving my old life behind and starting completely anew in a new place is scary, but I’m trying to think of it as exciting as well. Neurologically they say fear and excitement are very similar, so maybe I can trick myself into being super excited about it instead of afraid? Might be worth a shot.

And well, it isn’t completely starting from a blank slate is it? I will still have my weekends to come back to visit my old haunts. It doesn’t have to be an all or nothing deal realistically.

Every time there’s a big move though, I always thought of it as taking something uninhabitable and making it habitable. A flat is just quite… forbidding without anything in it, you know? You have to go through a whole lot of nesting activities to make it livable. Put up your pictures, set up your wee areas and so on. That’s the bit I’m looking forward to the most.
